Selecting Medicare Advantage Plans in Arizona:
This option might be good for you if:
-
- You want to receive Part A hospital, Part B medical and often Part D prescription drug coverage together in one plan.
- You want predictable costs and a firm limit on what you pay out-of-pocket for medical expenses each year.
- You value coverage that typically includes extra benefits like dental, vision, hearing and wellness.
Keep in mind:
-
- Advantage plans typically come with network contracted providers.
- Some plans may give you the ability to use out-of-network providers at low or no extra cost.
- You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium.
- Depending on the plan, you may pay a separate premium to a private insurance company.
- No health question asked. All Medicare beneficiaries, including people on Medicare due to a disability, are guaranteed acceptance regardless of health conditions (except End Stage Renal Disease).
- Special plans with lower or no out-of-pocket costs may be available for “Dual Eligibles” — people enrolled in both Medicare & AHCCCS.
To join, you must have Medicare Part A and Part B, live in the plan’s service areas and be a U.S. citizen or lawfully present in the United States. You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premium (unless your Part B premium is paid for you by AHCCCS or another third party).
